Your mission

As a Payment & Risk Operations Specialist at Bitpanda, your mission is to conduct pre-execution transaction monitoring to prevent exposure to financial crime and system abuse, applying first-principles reasoning to assess unusual activity by using evidence and data to balance risk and impact in a way that serves both the company and the user.

What you’ll do

• Evaluate suspicious patterns or anomalies in crypto and fiat transactions.
• Identify what additional checks are needed and take ownership of the follow up process.
• Support internal teams with escalations while meeting established SLAs.
• Communicate directly with customers via email and live chats.
• Assist senior team members by compiling relevant information and context on emerging fraud trends.

Who you are

• Passionate about fraud prevention, proactive intervention methods, and hungry to make an impact.
• Take a practical, outcome-focused approach — prioritising efficient, well-reasoned solutions over unnecessary escalation or procedural overhead.
• Relevant experience in fraud prevention, ideally in a cryptocurrency/Fintech company.
• Thrive in an ever-changing environment where you enjoy working on various projects with multiple stakeholders and are adaptable to different work volumes.
• Willing to work a fixed schedule consisting of either evening shifts (3:30 PM–12:00 AM) and weekends as required.
