Due to our continued growth, we are actively seeking a seasoned treasury professional to join our team to help with the development and recognition of Zanders in the DACH region.

Our main locations in Austria is Vienna and we are potentially open to another Austria-based hybrid location and work-from-home models.

Your Role

You will play a key role in developing and delivering our Financial Risk Management propositions for Austrian and DACH-based financial institutions. You will be involved in business development, advising clients, and managing complex projects across the risk spectrum (market risk, counterparty credit risk, XVA, margin models, derivatives pricing).

Depending on your seniority, you will:

Act as a key project team member or workstream lead, delivering high-quality quantitative analyses and models, and supporting business development activities.

Lead projects or multiple workstreams, manage client relationships, guide junior team members, and actively contribute to expanding our presence in Austria and the DACH region.

Drive the commercial strategy for Financial Risk in the region, build and maintain a strong client portfolio, and take overall responsibility for successful project delivery and team development.

You will collaborate with colleagues across our international Financial Institutions practice to deliver complex quantitative projects and innovative solutions. Freedom, fun, teamwork and a growth mindset are central to how we work.

Depending on your level, your responsibilities will include:

• Business development & market growth

  • Drive the growth of Zanders’ Financial Risk Management services in Austria and the wider DACH region.
  • Identify and develop commercial opportunities with banks and other financial institutions in the region.
  • Leverage and expand your network of risk and quantitative professionals across Austrian and DACH financial institutions.
  • Represent Zanders at local and regional industry events and contribute to thought leadership on financial risk topics.

• Client advisory & project delivery in the area of:

  • Financial Risk
  • Counterparty credit risk
  • XVA and margin models
  • Derivatives pricing and risk measurement
  • Lead or contribute to financial risk transformation projects, financial risk engagements, regulatory change programmes and related initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to our clients.

• People leadership & practice development

  • Coach and mentor junior and mid-level consultants, supporting their technical and soft-skills development.
  • Contribute to the further development of our Financial Risk methodology, tools and services.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive and entrepreneurial team culture in Vienna, integrated with our wider international practice.

• Thought leadership & networking

  • Monitor market, regulatory and methodological developments in financial risk.
  • Publish articles, speak at conferences and actively position Zanders as a leading advisor on financial risk in the DACH region.

Skills to be successful

You bring a combination of strong quantitative expertise, commercial drive and people skills.

Essential experience and qualifications (with expectations increasing by level):

• Bachelor and/or Master in Finances, Economics, or a similar field. Certification, such as FRM, CFA is a plus.
• Relevant experience in financial risk analytics, ideally within a bank, financial institution, or consultancy:
• Track record of leading projects, workstreams or teams, appropriate to your level.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with motivation to build and grow our financial risk offering in Austria and the DACH region.
• Ability to build and maintain a professional network with risk and front-office stakeholders at financial institutions in the region.
• Fluency in German and English (spoken and written) is essential.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel within Austria and the DACH region as needed.
• Legally authorized to work in Austria.
