Introduction

We are looking for candidates with an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in law who are interested in working at the intersection of fundamental rights, platform regulation, and digital innovation.

Become part of a pioneering project

User Rights is Europe’s first out-of-court dispute resolution body specialising in content moderation disputes on social media platforms. We are certified under Article 21 of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and mandated to review cases in four languages: German, English, French, and Italian.

We review decisions made by social media platforms and provide users, individuals, and organisations with thorough legal assessments grounded in European and, where applicable, national law. Our work sits at the intersection of platform regulation, technology, and fundamental rights, with a particular focus on freedom of expression and related rights.

Our decisions currently concern platforms including Instagram and Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest, and contribute to setting standards for the enforcement of fundamental rights in the digital space. As a pioneer in the emerging field of out-of-court dispute resolution for online freedom of expression, User Rights delivers well-reasoned, independent decisions that place fundamental rights considerations at their core.

To strengthen our team, we are seeking committed Case Reviewers to join us immediately. We are currently recruiting Case Reviewers to review cases in German, English, and French.

Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team

You work closely with lawyers, tech experts, and international partners on innovative dispute resolution procedures.

Use and development of proprietary technologies

Our procedures are supported by a unique platform that efficiently integrates procedural management with legal analysis and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in digital fundamental rights, platform regulation, and international media law
  • Analytical thinking, diligence, and strong communication skills
  • Fluency in English as well as either French or German

Benefits

The position is fully remote and can be carried out from anywhere within the EU. In-person workshops may be held occasionally as a supplement.

  • A responsible role with independent decision-making authority — even prior to completing legal training or a legal traineeship
  • Comprehensive onboarding, regular training opportunities, and access to internal case and quality review sessions
  • The opportunity to work in an excellent, interdisciplinary team with strong legal, technical, and societal ambitions
  • Flexible working hours, fair compensation, and a remote-first setup within the EU
  • Unique insight into a newly emerging professional field in digital Europe, at the intersection of law, technology, and platform regulation
