Data Steward for Data Governance

Description A data steward manages and oversees an organization's data assets to ensure they meet standards for quality, accessibility, security, and compliance with regulations and policies. Their main duties generally include:· Data quality management: ensuring information is accurate, complete, consistent, and trustworthy· Metadata management: documenting data definitions, lineage, and business context· Implementing data governance: applying policies, standards, and procedures· Managing access controls: regulating who can access specific data and for what reasons· Monitoring compliance: making sure data handling follows regulatory requirements· Resolving data issues: addressing problems related to data quality or access· Collaborating across functions: working with IT, business teams, and leadership· Promoting data literacy: enabling the organization to understand and use data appropriatelyData stewards act as a link between technical and business stakeholders, making sure that data supports organizational goals while being properly managed throughout its lifecycle.
