Financial Controller (m/f/d)

Set in the city of Bonn, Germany, on the Rhine River, BIS enjoys a well-resourced, purpose-built campus with generous playgrounds and green spaces.

Starting: As soon as possible (initial 2-year contract)
Working Hours: Full-time, 100% FTE, 40 hours per week
Salary Placement: Negotiable, out of tariff

Core Responsibilities:

• To prepare and record accurate, reliable and timely monthly financial and cost accounting and payroll data
• To provide accurate, reliable and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end reports to regulatory agencies and in-house users of financial, cost accounting and payroll data
• To lead the accounting office and to manage and supervise the accounting staff
• To prepare all external audits and all relevant tax returns
• To perform annual YE closings
• To promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people in our care and adhere to the school’s Child Protection policies

Qualifications and skills required:

• Qualification as ‘Geprüfter Bilanzbuchhalter’ or a university degree in Accounting, Business Administration or similar
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience required
• Experience in leading an accounting department
• Extensive technical knowledge of financial, cost, tax and payroll accounting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as high cultural sensitivity
• Fluency in German and English
• Teamplayer
