Lead Node.js Engineer

Your responsibilities

• Design, build, and own scalable backend services for the integrations platform (Node.js + PHP).
• Architect and evolve distributed systems running in a cloud environment (AWS).
• Implement integration patterns such as webhooks, polling, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
• Improve development lifecycle processes (CI/CD, automation, delivery performance metrics such as DORA).
• Contribute to technical documentation (RFCs, ADRs) and architecture decisions.
• Perform thoughtful code reviews and mentor other engineers.
• Drive adoption of AI-powered development tools within the team.

Our requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and operating complex backend systems.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and solid experience with PHP.
• Hands-on experience in building scalable integration platforms (API design, API versioning, multi-tenant systems).
• Strong understanding of:
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar),
• Message brokers (RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS, or similar),
• Cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
• Proven ability to make high-quality architectural decisions supported by research, PoCs, and written technical design documents.
• Strong focus on testing, observability, and operational excellence.
• Practical experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Optional

• Experience building developer-facing APIs or SDKs.
• Open-source contributions.
• Familiarity with localization-related technical challenges.
