Your mission

UNIO is revolutionizing mobility with seamless connectivity by bridging the gap between cellular and space-based connectivity solutions. We are looking for a "Maker in Residence" to join us on a part-time (20h/w) or full time basis.
As part of our ongoing efforts to bring the best possible connectivity to vehicles of all kinds, we are rapidly iterating on the UNIO MOVE product and prototypes. If you are familiar with the RPi, ESP32, STM32, Arduino, etc. ecosystem and don't mind getting your hands dirty with a soldering iron, power tools, and 3D-printers, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!

Your scope of activities:

- Contribute to the ongoing hardware development of the UNIO MOVE product, make improvements, and explore new avenues.
- Put our prototypes through their paces, break things in the lab before they break at the customer! Fix, improve, iterate.
- Support the creation of new prototypes and evaluation kits, so they are ready for field testing
- Accompany our evaluation kits in test campaigns in real-life scenarios throughout Germany and Europe
- Upgrade and refurbish evaluation kits, which are returning from field tests with battle scars
- Perform root cause analysis of issues with prototypes and evaluation kits
- Maintain the hardware setup of the UNIO Jeep, our show-case vehicle for product demonstrations, trade shows, and getting ice cream for the team

Your profile

• Bachelor's student in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or a related field
• Excellent knowledge of the RPi, ESP32, STM32, Arduino platforms or similar
• Strong maker mindset
• Fluent in English
• German driver's license
