Senior Data Engineer (banking)

Industry: BankingRate: up to 180 pln/h on b2bLocation: Hybrid - 2 days per week from office in Gdynia, Gdańsk or WarsawSummary: This role is for an Expert Data Engineer who will support a highly available application that delivers data to multiple downstream systems, focusing on optimizing data management processes and infrastructure.Main Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines.Develop and optimize PLSQL queries and database objects for high performance data storage in Oracle.Write Python-based data engineering scripts to process data.Implement CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure and workflow automation.Manage database change and ensure compliance with governance.Work with major cloud vendors and integrate modern data stacks.Monitor, debug, and optimize data workflows and infrastructure performance.Ensure data quality and governance practices are adhered to.Key Requirements:Proficiency in designing OLAP systems with techniques like STAR schema or denormalization.Expertise in Python and PLSQL.Experience in ELT/ETL development using GUI-based tools (e.g., IBM Datastage, ADF, Stitch, Matillion).Database management knowledge (Oracle, MSSQL, Snowflake).Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps).Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Robot, Selenium).Familiarity with version control techniques (Git, GitHub, GitLab).Knowledge of workflow orchestration (Airflow, Prefect).Understanding of streaming and batch processing (Kafka).Nice to Have:Experience with cloud platform services.Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.Familiarity with data governance frameworks.Previous experience in a banking or financial services setting.
