Senior UAV / Drone Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior UAV System Engineer with strong hands-on experience in flight control systems, integration, and tuning of industrial UAV platforms, to support the development and optimization of a drone system for wind turbine inspection and repair. Hybrid work model: 2 weeks per month in Denmark (with weekend trips to Poland).Form of cooperation: freelance, project-specific B2B contract with an initial duration of 3 months, with the potential for extension through the end of 2026 based on project needs and performance.REQUIREMENTSDegree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related fieldProven hands-on experience with ArduPilotStrong experience with UAV systems (medium to large platforms)Practical experience with dual GPS configurationsExperience implementing RTK systemsStrong PID tuning experience on UAV platformsExperience with real-world flight testing and system integration UUnderstanding of MAVLink communicationEnglish at least B2Nice to haveExperience with ROS2Programming experience in C++ and/or PythonExperience working with companion computers (e.g., Jetson, Raspberry Pi)Experience with LTE/telemetry systems in UAVs Tech Stack Flight Control & CommunicationRESPONSIBILITIESIntegrate sensors and subsystems (GPS, RTK, cameras, rangefinders, etc.) into UAV platformsPerform flight tuning and stabilization, including PID tuning Conduct on-site flight testing and validationTroubleshoot system-level issues and optimize UAV performanceConfigure and manage flight control systems (ArduPilot-based)Support system integration across hardware and software componentsContribute to R&D activities depending on experience and project needs
