In this role, with your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build sophisticated virtualization solutions for containers that power Megaclusters and high-demand AI/ML training environments, where every millisecond of latency and every packet matters.
• Act as a technical hero for our largest external customers. Dive deep into complex production clusters, diagnosing and solving the "impossible" networking puzzles that only emerge at Google-scale.
• Engage with the Kubernetes Open Source community to help steer the direction of networking and security for the entire industry.
• Design and implement features that define how traffic flows through Kubernetes.
• Be at the intersection of performance and security, ensuring that Google Kubernetes Engine remains the gold standard for cloud-native platforms.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building or maintaining large-scale distributed systems, with the ability to handle errors, scalability, and performance bottlenecks.
• Proficiency in Go, C++, or Rust.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes or containerized environments (e.g., Control Plane, API Server, or Kubelet).
• Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and highly concurrent code.
