About the project
Your responsibilities
- Design, plan, and maintain end-to-end monitoring architectures for infrastructure, systems, and applications.
- Define monitoring standards, best practices, and design guidelines.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate monitoring tools and technologies.
- Design alerting strategies (thresholds, alert logic, escalation, noise reduction).
- Ensure monitoring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable.
- Collaborate with Monitoring SREs to support complex tickets and incidents.
- Provide architectural guidance during onboarding of new systems and services.
- Participate in root cause analysis and drive monitoring-related improvements.
- Document monitoring architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement of observability (metrics, alerts, dashboards, SLIs/SLOs).
Our requirements
- Hands-on knowledge of monitoring and observability tools, such as: Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Strong Linux system administration background.
- Solid experience in system engineering and IT operations.
- Proven experience designing and operating monitoring solutions.
- Experience with metrics, alerts, dashboards, and monitoring automation.
- Automation tools for CI/CD (Jenkins, Gitlab) and configuration (Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with using REST API form different products and tools.
- Understanding of networking, virtualization, and distributed systems.
- Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- EU citizenship.
- Fluent English: B2/C1.
- Being open to occasional business trips abroad and visits in our office in Katowice.
Optional
- Experience with SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
- Exposure to cloud and container environments (Kubernetes, cloud monitoring).
- Experience reducing alert fatigue and improving monitoring quality.
- Knowledge of Dynatrace Managed monitoring system and Dynatrace certification.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Clearance.
